How do I become a member?

To become a member you can complete the on-line form below or download the PDF below. After completing the form, please mail your Membership form and payment to Montauk Rural Fire Department.

Can I drop off my new member or renewal form and payment at the fire station?

Yes, we have installed a drop box on the side door on the north side of the fire station.

What happens if I am not a member and I require assistance?

In responding to emergencies of non-members or non-subscribers, the volunteer fire protection association may charge up to the following fees:

1. $100.00 for responding to an emergency;

2. $500.00 for each hour or a proportional sum for each quarter hour spent providing emergency services; plus

3. An amount equal to one year's membership or subscription fees.

What is the length of a Membership?

Memberships expire August 31 and must be renewed each year.

Memberships are not prorated. See examples below for when a membership expires.
